Introduction
The EYES Portal (the "Service") is operated by the Emerging Young
Entrepreneurs Society, Lucerne and its affiliates (collectively, "us",
"we", the "Society" or "EYES").
The protection of your personal data is of highest concern to us. The
EYES privacy policy ("Privacy Policy") is designed to inform you about
how we collect and use your personal data, and help you make informed
decisions when using the Service. The Privacy Policy supplements the
EYES Terms & Conditions.
By accessing or using our web site at eyes-online.org ("Web Site"),
you (the "User") signify that you have read, understand and accept the
practices described in the Privacy Policy. The term "User" thus refers
to a "Visitor" (which means that you simply browse the Web Site) and
to a "Member" (which means that you have successfully applied to EYES
and specifically indicated your acceptance of the Privacy Policy in
your registration process. This includes all stages of membership,
e.g. Guest Membership, Full Membership, Alumnus Membership). Unless
stated otherwise, the Privacy Policy applies to all information that
we have about you and your account. Please note that we will never
rent, sell or distribute your e-mail address or
personally-identifiable information to third parties without your
explicit consent.

Information Collection
When you visit or use the EYES Portal you provide us with three types
of information:
Personal information collected by us that you knowingly choose to
disclose: When you register with and use the EYES Portal, you provide
us with certain personal information, such as your name, your email
address, your location (city and country), your gender, your birthday,
your job status, your industry, languages that you speak and any other
personal or preference information that you provide to us including
but not limited to your personal description, your contact details,
and your photo
Web site use information collected by us as you interact with our
Web Site: When you enter the Web Site, we collect certain technical
information including your browser type, IP address, and operating
system. We also log details of your interaction with the Web Site,
including how you reached the Web Site as well as time spent and
amount of data transferred on the Web Site by you. In addition, we
store certain information from your browser using cookies
Service use information collected by us as you interact with the
EYES Portal: When you use the EYES Portal, send and receive messages,
perform searches, access features of external services (e.g. Skype),
and transmit information through various other channels
Information Use
Use of profile information
Personal profile information is used by us primarily to be presented
back to and edited by you when you use the EYES Portal, and to be
presented to other Members. Profile information essentially
facilitates finding and communicating with Members.
In the "Profile" section of the Service you can find out in detail
which profile information is shared with other Members. All user
profile information is visible to all Members, including but not
limited to: user ID, first name, age, photo, location (city and
country), gender, job status, industry, languages, personal
description and membership statistics in order to facilitate
transparent user interaction on the EYES Portal.
We may use your name to personalize your EYES Portal experience for
services on the Web Site (for example by displaying "Peter´s Mail" to
a Member with first name Peter), in email communication from EYES to
you.
Web site use information
We collect web site use information for security and monitoring
purposes, to manage our Web Site, to track and statistically analyze
usage of and to improve the EYES Portal.
Service use information
We collect information on your interaction with the EYES Portal so
that we can provide you the Service and offer personalized features.
Use of email address
Email addresses are used to identify Users and to send notifications
related to the Service. In this context, your email address may be
shared with or displayed to Users or third parties. In addition it
will be shared with or displayed to all other Members.
Members cannot opt-out of EYES service notifications, including
account specific notifications or service status notifications. If you
do not wish to receive these notifications, you have the option to
cancel your EYES membership. You share your personal information and
exchange with other Members on the EYES Portal at your own risk. We
cannot control the actions of Users with whom you may choose to share
your information or messages. Therefore, we cannot and do not
guarantee that the information you share or exchange on the EYES
Portal will not be viewed by unauthorized persons.
Users Under The Age Of 18
The EYES Portal is reserved to persons who are eighteen (18) years of
age or older. EYES does not
knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under 18
or knowingly allow such
persons to register or provide any personal information to or on the
EYES Portal.
Use Of Cookies, Log Files And Other Technology
Like most web sites, we use cookies and web log files to store
visitors´ preferences and to record session information, for purposes
including ensuring that Users are logged in and to customize messages
and Web Site content. A cookie is a piece of data stored on your
computer which allows us to recognize you as a User when you return to
our Web Site using the same computer and web browser. You may be able
to configure your browser to accept or reject all or some cookies, or
notify you when a cookie is set. However, if your browser settings do
not allow cookies, you will not be able to use our Web Site.
Links
The EYES Portal contains links to other web sites or services. This
Privacy Policy only governs information collected on the EYES Portal
or the Web Site. We are not responsible for the privacy policies
and/or practices on other web sites or services. When linking to
another web site or service Users should read the privacy policy
stated on that web site or for that service.
Forums
Please be aware that whenever you voluntarily post personal
information to any forum, that this information can be accessed by the
all Members and can in turn be used by others to send you unsolicited
communications.
Correcting/Updating Or Removing Personal Information
Control over personal information on the EYES Portal is available
through the "Profile" and "Settings" sections on the Web Site. Users
may modify or remove their profile information at any time in these
sections. If you want all of your profile information to be removed,
you need to cancel your EYES membership. You understand and
acknowledge that, even after modification or removal, copies of user
data may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or if other
Users have copied or stored your information.
You always have the option to cancel your EYES membership at any time.
If you are a Member and no longer wish to participate in EYES, contact
the EYES Board at board@eyes-online.org.
After your account is closed, we may retain certain data contributed
by you if it may be necessary to prevent fraud or future abuse, or for
legitimate purposes, such as analysis of aggregated,
non-personally-identifiable data, account recovery, or if required by
law. All retained data will continue to be subject to the terms of the
Privacy Policy. Where you make use of the EYES communication features
(e.g. message service) to share information with other individuals on
the EYES Portal, however, you may not be able to remove such
communications.
Security
User accounts are secured by user-created passwords. The security of
your personal information depends on your protection of your account
password.
We take precautions to insure that user account information is kept
private. We use reasonable measures to protect user information that
is stored within our database, and we restrict access to user
information to those Members who need access to perform their job
functions, such as our customer service personnel, technical staff,
and management.
Please note that we cannot guarantee the security of user account
information. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure,
and other factors may compromise the security of user information at
any time.
Sharing And Disclosure Of Collected Information
Except as otherwise described in the Privacy Policy, we will not
disclose personal information to any third party unless we believe
that disclosure is necessary:
to conform to legal requirements or to respond to a subpoena,
search warrant or other legal process received by us, whether or not a
response is required by applicable law
to enforce the EYES Terms & Conditions or to protect our and our
affiliates´ rights; or
to protect the safety of the public and/or Users of the Service.
This may include sharing information with other companies, lawyers,
agents or government agencies. We may provide information to service
providers to help us bring you the services we offer. Specifically, we
may use third parties to facilitate our business, such as to host the
service at a server facility, to send out email updates about EYES, or
to process payments for products or services. In connection with these
offerings and business operations, our service providers may have
access to your personal information for use for a limited time in
connection with these business activities. Where we utilize third
parties for the processing of any personal information, we implement
reasonable
contractual protections limiting the use of that information to the
specified purposes.
Changes In This Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to change the Privacy Policy at any time. If we
make changes, we will post the revised Privacy Policy and will
indicate the policy´s effective date. You are responsible to refer to
the Privacy Policy on our Web Site on an ongoing basis so that you
understand our current privacy policy and practices.
Your continued use of our Web Site or the Service and/or continued
provision of information to us will be subject to the terms of our
then-current privacy policy.
Governing Law And Jurisdiction
If you choose to visit and/or use the Web Site and EYES Portal, your
visit/ use and any dispute over privacy is subject to the Privacy
Policy, our Terms & Conditions and application of Swiss law. We have
made an effort to protect the personal information of all Users, and
to the extent applicable, we attempt to comply with local data
protection and consumer rights laws. If you are unsure whether the
Privacy Policy is in conflict with the applicable local rules where
you are located, you should not submit your personal information to
the Web Site. All Users, including Users located in countries outside
of Switzerland, who submit personal information do thereby consent to
the general use of such information as provided in this Privacy Policy
and to the transfer of that information to and/or storage of the
information in Switzerland and Germany.
